Transport from Malaga airport

All transportation options from Malaga Airport

Whether you have already bought your flight to Malaga as if you are beginning to organize your holidays on the Costa del Sol we provide important information regarding the various means of transport at your disposal upon your arrival at Malaga airport – Costa del Sol.

Car Hire: For car hire we recommend to book in advance although at the airport and outside the airport in Comandante Garcia Morato Avenue there are different companies that can offer a car rental without reservation, at the moment. To reserve a vehicle our main advice is to read all the conditions well and compare the different companies that inspire you more confidence.

Private Transfers: Transfers from the airport are outstanding by personalized service tailored to the needs of the customer. In our case, in MalagaTaxi.co.uk we can guarantee an enviable deal from the start, offering flawless and high-end vehicles. The drivers will communicate with you in perfect English and will be waiting for you at the airport or at the hotel as long as necessary.

Conventional taxis can provide a good trip to the place you want to go in Malaga. They are usually stationed at the exit of Terminal 3. If you haven´t reserved a taxi and haven´t rented a car, using the services of a conventional taxi is a good option as it doesn´t need advance booking. Although there is a high possibility that the driver doesn´t speak English perfectly.

Buses: On leaving the airport there is a bus stop where Avanzabus buses take you to different hotels in Torremolinos and Benalmádena, and provide bus trips to Estepona, Marbella and Algeciras. Another alternative that you have at the airport bus stop is traveling to Malaga, with the line A of EMT Malaga, with buses running every half hour. This bus can bring you to the Málaga bus station in a journey of half an hour or even to the centre of Malaga.

Train: Coming out of Terminal 3 and after crossing the street you find the airport train station which connects with the entire commuter line of Renfe Malaga. This means you’ll have access to travel by train to the following locations: Fuengirola, Carvajal, Torremuelle, Benalmadena – Arroyo de la Miel, Torremolinos, Malaga city, etc. The service is comfortable and very punctual; the trains make stops at stations every 20 minutes, although if you are traveling with luggage, when getting off the train you might have to walk with luggage to get to your holiday hotel, or in many cases you need another mode of transport as the train doesn´t get too close to your destination.

Subway: It is currently not possible to travel by Metro from the airport to Málaga but this transport can be useful if you plan to move around the city during your vacation.
